Pisang Ambon is a Dutch liqueur from those ever-talented folks at Bols, based around a recipe from Indonesia. With its core of banana notes, complemented by a herbal medley, this'll make for an excellent cocktail ingredient...
Creamy, tropical nose with freshly peeled over-ripe banana, caramel and a little vanilla.
Rich palate with creamy sweet bananas, dried banana chips, desiccated coconut and guava. Thick and palate-coating.
Long, fruity finish.

I love this in a tropical fruit trifle. I always used Cointreau until I discovered Pisang Ambon. I soak the sponge in Pisang Ambon. Everybody who tries my trifle loves it.
Introduced to this in early 1980's Holland at a Birthday Party in Dordrecht......Then "ALL" Liqueurs were over 24% al....This was 28%...It came as a long drink in a tall Pisang Ambon Glass....(free at the time)....Over crushed Ice...Topped up with fresh orange juice with the bits left-in...and orange wedge .....Made me go out and buy some.....
