Jack Daniel's 10 Years Old Batch 5

Now in its fifth batch, the release has become one of the most anticipated annual drops in American whiskey.

The mash bill remains classic Jack Daniel’s: 80% corn, 12% rye, and 8% malted barley.

But extended maturation changes the conversation. A decade in oak barrels intensifies everything. The caramel grows darker. The oak becomes charred and drying. Spice sharpens. Tobacco, leather, burnt sugar, and roasted nuts develop around the edges.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Banana sweetness, maple candy, and charred oak. Then baking spice, toasted wood, clove, and deeper barrel notes begin to emerge.

Palate: Rye spice and black pepper arrive first, followed by banana bread richness, burnt brown butter, tobacco leaf, and layers of drying oak. There’s still sweetness here, but it’s balanced by structure and grip.

Finish: The finish leans drier this year, with leather, charred oak, peppercorn spice, burnt caramel, and lingering tobacco notes sticking around long after the sip is gone.

One of the year’s most anticipated whiskey releases is back.

Jack Daniel’s 10 Year Old Batch 5 continues the distillery’s hugely sought-after Aged Series, taking the classic Old No. 7 character and giving it a full decade in oak barrels to deepen, darken, and mature. The result is a richer, spicier, more oak-forward Tennessee whiskey packed with banana sweetness, charred wood, tobacco leaf, peppery spice, and burnt caramel notes.

And yes, demand is going to be ridiculous again. But with us, there's no camping outside a whiskey shop required.

Don't miss out on batch 5 of Jack 10 Year Old

When Jack Daniel’s launched the first 10 Year Old release in 2021, it stopped whiskey fans in their tracks. Here was an age-stated Jack Daniel’s for the first time in over a century. This is Tennessee whiskey with creases in its face, More wood influence, time, and complexity, sure. But it still drinks like Jack.

Like previous batches, Jack Daniel’s 10 Year Old Batch 5 is released in limited quantities and demand is expected to be substantial. Collectors chase it. Bourbon drinkers argue over which batch was best. There's an annual rush for Jack Daniel's 10 Years Old that underlines that this isn’t just a new edition of Old No. 7 with a bigger number slapped on the label.

If you want yours, don't hang about. Every other edition has sold out at Master of Malt. Expect the same for this year's.
