Win tickets to The Grand Sumo Tournament 2025 on Saturday 18th October!

Founded exactly half a century after the birth of Japan's first malt whisky distillery, Yamazaki, Hakushu's mineral-rich water and herbaceous peat result in a diverse collection of characterful Japanese single malts, and bring verdant balance to legendary House of Suntory blends like Hibiki.

Right now, when you buy any whisky from the House of Suntory range, you’ll be entered into a ballot to win tickets to The Grand Sumo Tournament at the Royal Albert Hall.

Discover the heart of Hakushu

The distillery resides in the foothills of Mt. Kaikomagatake in the Japanese Alps and is famed for its clear, mineral-rich underground water. The crisp, pure water, high altitude, and seasonal alpine climate all contribute to Hakushu's signature vibrant, verdant profile.

Tasting Notes

NoseThe herbs are very up front with this one. Peppermint, pine and pleasant grassy notes. Cucumber and melon round out the nose.

PalateAll the notes on the nose swim effortlessly through the palate, the mint developing sweeter notes as it goes on. Citrus zest also pops in to say hello.

FinishA waft of smoke appears during the long finish.
