Gold Spot 13 Year Old - The Generations Edition
A rather special limited release joins the Spot Irish whiskey collection from Mitchell & Son! Named The Generations Edition, this Gold Spot single-pot still whiskey showcases the harmony of heritage and innovation and champions wine cask maturation.
This expression is a marriage of Gold Spot's established bourbon and sherry cask matured whiskey, matured for an additional 16 months in Recioto della Valpolicella Italian red wine casks. The result is a sumptuously smooth sipper, with layers of sweet, vinous red fruit, jammy berries, and rich oak.
Tasting Notes
Delicate vanilla and velvety caramel are enriched with accents of toasted nuts awakened by hints of smoke.

"Colour impacts how we feel. It stimulates our thoughts and influences how we feel about products and the brand. Colour is so much more than what meets the eye. Some brands are so iconic you can identify the brand just by the colour."
"Behind every Spot Whiskey is a long history of colourful characters and experience, dedication, and a story of survival. Spot Whiskey has been kept alive by seven generations of the Mitchell family."

About Spot Whiskey
The Spot range of Irish whiskey is distilled at Midleton in Cork, Ireland, home of Jameson, Redbreast, and Midleton Very Rare. The brand was established by the family-owned Mitchell & Son Wine Merchants, which first opened in 1805 and was a buyer and bottler of fine whiskey.
In 1887, Robert Mitchell devised a simple, though clearly effective colour coding scheme for casks, using spots of coloured paint on each cask in the warehouse to track the age of the whiskey in each barrel: Blue Spot was 7 years old, Green Spot was 10 years old, Yellow Spot was 12 years old, and Red Spot was 15 years old.
During the decline of Irish whiskey, the bottles were discontinued, only to be brought back to colourful life by Irish Distillers in the early 2000s, and they have been met with acclaim and adoration ever since.
