A premium strength Scottish gin from WM Cadenhead, Old Raj Spiced Gin joins the Old Raj Dry Gin as the second major release for the brand.
A departure stylistically, this gin has all the spicy kick the name promises, thanks to a botanical list that includes coriander, cubebs, cumin, pink peppercorn and a twist of smoked paprika among juniper, orange, almond and rowanberry.

Just chanced my arm on this having never tried it and based on the bottling note / % Thankfully ordered some other of my usual gins from MoM so the disappointment of this 'punt' is mitigated. You can detect a nose on this but all botanicals listed blend into nothing when mixed in a G&T and I pour generous measures which arguably exceed a standard 'double' plus my ice quantity is 3 cubes (max) Zero spice coming through and for the ABV - 55% is in no way coming through. Thankfully the 2 other gins I've ordered are tried and trusted.
