An English gin, distilled at Herefordshire, from the same company that make Chase potato vodka. This is distilled from organic apples, and has a lovely crisp, fruity flavour.
Sweet with green apple laces, a little liquorice, juniper and elderflower. Perhaps even a hint of toffee...?
Crisp apples up front, slowly becoming juicier, with orange peels chiming in from the side. Dryer near the end with classic gin herbaceousness.
Refreshing with plenty of juniper and citrus.
This is the Best gin ever, lucky you have a stash of it.
Was (Is ?) my wife’s favourite Gin, I thought this had gone off the market with Diagio’s takeover of Chase Gin & Vodka. Still have some of the original pre takeover production, will be interesting to compare. Note re Gin / Vodka argument. ALL Gin is flavoured Vodka. Vodka is ethyl alcohol, Gin is ditto plus flavourings. William’s (Chase as was ) base spirit is distilled from Apples (does this render it Calvados ?) rather than grain, potatoes or sugar cane. One famous spirit producer imports cane spirit, sieves out the spiders and sells it as White Rum, fine filters it and adds flavourings to sell it as Gin, charcoal filters the spirit and sells it as Vodka. All comes from the same imported bulk spirit. Made no secret of this when I was invited to their plant as a trade customer.
I Love drinking gin and this is one of the best if not the best gin I have tasted put a double measure in a glass with ice and a couple of slices of root ginger add a can of schweppes tonic and sit back and relax
Tasty
Smells great and tastes even better. Definitely, the best gin I`ve ever tried.
