Twisting Spirits
Gloucestershire's Twisting Spirits micro-distillery have paired zesty citrus and earthy juniper with the fantastically fragrant notes of douglas fir to create this gin. While the majority of their spirit is distilled within an copper alembic pot still, some of their specialist botanicals are cold-distilled under vacuum, which helps to preserve the flavours through the distillation process.
Pine and juniper - a classic combination. Layers of grapefruit and lime develop later on.
I had to try this Gin as the Douglas Fir needles used to make it are foraged from near where I live! I was not disappointed... it smells divine - like a woodland forest and tastes lovely and citrusy.
