To create this exciting gin, The Wrecking Coast distillery in Tintagel macerate 12 botanicals in grain spirit for a fortnight before running through a computer controlled iStill (no, really). Meanwhile, the signature botanical, Cornish clotted cream, is cold distilled in a vacuum still before the two spirits are blended together!
Though clotted cream adds a creamy depth to the spirit, the prominent flavours are of wonderful garden-y floral notes and peppery spice. Recommended serves are either neat over ice or with tonic, strawberries and lime.
A creamy mouthfeel carries notes of vibrant, earthy juniper, vanilla pod and honeyed floral. Hints of angelica root and peppercorn stick around in the background.
Spot on many thanks
I was given a bottle as a gift and am a gin lover. Originally I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to add cream ??♀️ but read the suggestions on the bottle and just added a small slice of lime and strawberries over ice. It was delicious! Creamy mouthfeel and at the he end the peppery finish. Will definitely be finishing the bottle over time.
I've had a miniature of this gin and I would certainly buy a large bottle. The fragrance and near taste is like no gin I've had yet, unique to me and delightful. The mint and strawberries as per the serving suggestion really compliments the herby/vegetal flavour. There are mixed reviews for this gin, perhaps some expect a cream flavoured liqueur which it certainly is not.
Best way to enjoy this is in a Martini. No frills. Just the gin and a splash of extra dry vermouth. No twist. No olives. As cold as you can make it and enjoy.
I got bought a bottle for my birthday. Tried mixing (Seperately) with tonic , elder flower tonic, strawberry juice, lemonad and ginger ale, but nothing worked! Not for me! Some serving suggestions needed!! Sorry!
