Outlander's Sam Heughan has managed to capture (and distil) the essence of Scotland's rugged landscapes with this addition to his Sassenach spirits range – Wild Scottish Gin! This London dry style gin is distilled with an array of foraged botanicals from the Dumfries and Galloway region of Scotland, where Heughan grew up.
A core of Scottish juniper is supported by rhubarb, heather, pine resin, bramble leaf, blaeberry, crabapple, and toasted oats to create a well-balanced classic that'll shine in a trusty G&T, garnished with a slice of apple. This gin has been winning awards left right and centre, including gold at the 2023 New York World Wine & Spirits Competition, the Singapore World Spirits Competition, the Spirits Business Autumn Tasting, and the Beverage Testing Institute.
Juniper takes the lead, while soft waves of orchard fruit and florals balance delicate pine, bound by creamy, soft notes of soaked oats.
Light apple and fruits.
Juniper is balanced with notes of apple, rhubarb and some subtle floral notes from the heather.
Crisp, fresh fruits with some subtle underlying spice and earthy notes.
Great item and 1st class service buy with confidence you won’t be disappointed 10/10 for the product and 11/10 for the service.
big fan of the series outlander and now an even Bigger fan of Sassenach! Gin and Whisky ordered from Belgium. Unfortunately paid high import costs. But this is worth it!
Beautiful gin to be sipped neat or enjoyed as a longer drink. I drank this with tonic and have to say I was pleasantly surprised it wasn’t sharp as a lot of gins. Very much a gin to buy again, expensive but as a treat definitely buy a bottle.
We’re into our third bottle of Sassenach gin it’s now our favourite gin. We’ve tried it with various mixers and also a Martini. We definitely prefer this to our previous favourite gins highly recommend
I'm not an expert when it comes to describing the separate and subtle flavours that have gone into the creation of the Sassenach Wild Scottish Gin. What I do know is this gin is so smooth, and the flavours so delicate, that I'm often sipping it neat, and I don't do that with any other gin. It's close to sinful to mix it with anything other than itself.
