The starting point for the Gin Bothy's menagerie of wonderful flavoured expressions - Gin Bothy Original! This tasty Scottish gin is made with a selection of local botanicals including hawthorn, heather, milk thistle, marshmallow root and Scottish pine needles, alongside juniper, lemon and orange. While this is where the variations all begin, Gin Bothy Original is very much its own delicious thing and not simply a base.
Robust and refreshing, Gin Bothy Original puts juniper to the fore and backs it up with pine. Balancing sweetness of milk thistle and citrus develops on the mid-palate.
Bought this in person after a tasting, it’s absolutely delicious. There’s a complaint in a review about bought-in spirit (!) - almost every small producer uses bought-in spirit; gin is about the botanicals not the base! Makes a superb g&t and dry martini

Savoury gin with rosemary in the middle and a Scots Pine finish, fresh and refreshing and fabulous with lamb, love it!
