Spit-Roasted Pineapple Gin (That Boutique-y Gin Company) (50cl)

Well that was popular... Check out more Buy One Get One Half Price Boutiquey-Gins here!

Consider the pineapple. Delicious, though unwieldy. The pineapple has been used in many recipes throughout the ages, like tasty puddings, contentious pizzas, and of course, drinks. Back in the 1920s, Pineapple Gin was a commonplace beverage, but it fell into obscurity in the years following. However, That Boutique-y Gin Company could not bear to see Pineapple Gin lost to the ravages of time and have revitalised it with their own 21st century twist. Introducing Spit-Roasted Pineapple Gin.

Whole pineapples are roasted on a spit with Demerara sugar until they're gloriously caramelised. That Boutique-y Gin Company then combine this lip-smacking treat with some bold gin, which both cuts through and pairs brilliantly with the sweet, zesty, subtly toasty pineapple. Ta-da - your new favourite summer tipple. Though well-suited to sipping over ice, the label suggests you seek out some Ting to enjoy with Spit-Roasted Pineapple Gin, and we can't recommend that enough.

Much like a fine wine, some sediment may evolve in the bottle over time. This is due to the natural interaction between the real fruit ingredients and the spirit, and does not affect the ever-evolving flavour of the gin. You can pour the gin off the sediment, or simply shake it in.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Authentic pineapple sweetness, with waves of sharp citrus and slightly earthy juniper. Sugar caramelising in a pan with a stick of cinnamon.

    Palate

Mouthwatering tropical fruit right from the start. Hints of honey, orange blossom and oily juniper. A couple of enjoyably sour pineapple notes develop on the mid-palate - perhaps some Lilt, too...

    Finish

Lightly charred sugar, cardamom and lasting fresh pineapple drenched in caramel notes.

    Full of flavour

That spit roast was delicious. Don’t like gin, but this was great!!

Beautiful caramelised notes with the distinct flavour of roasted pineapple!

    It's truly delicious!

    Love it.

Great over ice. Great in a smoothie. Great with lemonade. Great for cocktails. It’s so versatile and tastes like you're eating fresh pineapple straight of the bbq what’s not to love.

Buy Gin Instead of This Alcoholic Fruit Syrup.

It's nothing like a gin, it's expensive very sweet pineapple syrup containing alcohol. No subtle flavours, just mouth twistingly over the top sugar and pineapple. As has already been stated, it's a liqueur, presumably it's called gin simply to cash in on the booming market for gin. Calling this gin makes as much sense as tipping sugar and fruit juice in vodka and calling it whiskey. I won't be buying any of this outfits offerings again, lesson learned. Over the past few days house guests have told me that I should be forced to drink the bottle as I bought it and they think it's terrible stuff. A waste of money - that's what you get for going by the repeated advertising hype "reviews" on web sites............

No juniper was harmed in the making of this product

This is heavily laden with sugar. It is absolutely a liqueur not an actual gin. If it was in the liqueur section it would be fairly good but it is not and therfore it isn’t. I would never in a million years market this as a gin. If anybody can taste juniper in this syrupy mess they deserve a standing ovation.
