Consider the pineapple. Delicious, though unwieldy. The pineapple has been used in many recipes throughout the ages, like tasty puddings, contentious pizzas, and of course, drinks. Back in the 1920s, Pineapple Gin was a commonplace beverage, but it fell into obscurity in the years following. However, That Boutique-y Gin Company could not bear to see Pineapple Gin lost to the ravages of time and have revitalised it with their own 21st century twist. Introducing Spit-Roasted Pineapple Gin.
Whole pineapples are roasted on a spit with Demerara sugar until they're gloriously caramelised. That Boutique-y Gin Company then combine this lip-smacking treat with some bold gin, which both cuts through and pairs brilliantly with the sweet, zesty, subtly toasty pineapple. Ta-da - your new favourite summer tipple. Though well-suited to sipping over ice, the label suggests you seek out some Ting to enjoy with Spit-Roasted Pineapple Gin, and we can't recommend that enough.
Much like a fine wine, some sediment may evolve in the bottle over time. This is due to the natural interaction between the real fruit ingredients and the spirit, and does not affect the ever-evolving flavour of the gin. You can pour the gin off the sediment, or simply shake it in.
Authentic pineapple sweetness, with waves of sharp citrus and slightly earthy juniper. Sugar caramelising in a pan with a stick of cinnamon.
Mouthwatering tropical fruit right from the start. Hints of honey, orange blossom and oily juniper. A couple of enjoyably sour pineapple notes develop on the mid-palate - perhaps some Lilt, too...
Lightly charred sugar, cardamom and lasting fresh pineapple drenched in caramel notes.
Neat it smells like a farm - manure - and tastes like cough mixture. With tonic it tastes like farmy cough mixture. Wouldn't recommend this one.
Wasn't a huge fan of the smell or initial taste when neat but when Ice and Ginger Ale was added - a fabulous fruity, really pleasant and refreshing taste. Will be purchasing a bottle for Christmas straight away.
Fantastic Gin, bursting with full pineapple flavours
Yum
Wasn't keen, the sweetness overpowered the other flavours for me I'm afraid , will be passing it on to someone with a sweet tooth !
