Gurt Lush Gin (That Boutique-y Gin Company)
Ah, Bristol. A colourful city full of bridges, boats, hot air balloons, and now gin! That Boutique-y Gin Company invited the bartenders of Bristol to create a gin inspired by their city. Behold, Gurt Lush Gin! Taking inspiration from their surroundings, local traditions and historical figures, the final selection of botanicals included apples, a lemon bonanza, hops and violet. They even chose the name too, and if your West Country slang isn't up to scratch, 'gurt' means 'very' and 'lush' means 'good'. Keep it simple in a G&T with a slice of apple, or go full Bristolian and pair it with mint, lime and, of course, cider!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Oodles of lemon, with floral lemon blossom and oily lemon peel. There's boiled apple sweeties swiftly followed by piney juniper and fresh mint leaves.
Palate
Viscous, with fresh juniper, with fiery root ginger, a tangy citrus note and fresh Granny Smith apples.
Finish
Loads of fragrant lemon lingers alongside a bright floral bouquet, distinctly violet flowers.
