Tanqueray London Dry Gin weighs in at 41.3% ABV making it an ideal strength for cocktails. It boasts a phenomenally fruity, spicy palate with big zesty, citrusy top notes, using the same Tanqueray recipe since 1830 of Tuscan juniper, angelica, and coriander.
Aromatic. Cedar, juniper oil, a little citrus zest.
Huge juniper, spicy notes of orange and lemon peel, a little aniseed.
Long finish, very full and thick with juniper.
Tanqueray is overpriced garbage that appeal's to the 20 something frat boy who wants to get "wasted man" literally all I can taste is just the strength of it. It smells how it tastes which if have to say is like £1 cologne I have smelt better on Russian taxi drivers. I wouldn't even wash my bathtub with it wouldn't be fair on the plughole. I have no idea how this wins awards still to this day, but then again ASDA'S and Lidl's gin which mainly comprises of two main ingredients one of which being Juniper Berries and the other being Lighter Fluid seems to take gold medals that says it all. I have this suspicion if it wasn't for the higher alcohol content than most gins, this swill would not raved about near as much. Save your cash Bombay Sapphire, Gordon's and Beefeater are all cheaper and far better.
I have gins that are more complex and interesting, but for a day to day tipple, it can't be beaten. Rangpur to mix things up.
