Shropshire's Stonehouse Brewery is not just a brewery – as of 2024, it became a distillery too, installing a 400-litre German column still! Here we have one of its first creations, a gin that's bursting with the sweet, tart, tangy combo of natural strawberry and lime.
Bought this a while back and have just opened it. Awful. sickly sweet, horrible texture, quite possibly the worst gin I have ever tried.
It has a strange aftertaste and oily residue which lingers on the palette.
I was hoping for a fresh tasting fruity gin, full of tasty strawberries and a tang of lime, however, this tastes very artificial. It has that fake strawberry taste, like cheap sweets and no lime detected. I threw it into a strawberry gin trifle just to use it. I wouldn’t buy this again.
