Many of us here at MoM Towers have wanted to visit California, but for one reason or another, we've not hopped on a plane just yet (I think it's mostly for fear of grizzly bears and not being able to get a proper cup of tea).
However, the wonderful folks at St. George Spirits have provided us the next best thing, the Terroir Gin! Now in a 70cl bottle, its botanical selection of Douglas Fir, Coastal sage and Californian bay laurel gives it a magical nose that makes you really feel like you're stood in a Californian forest (with no chance of a grizzly sneaking up on you as an added bonus!).
You're out in nature. In a forest to be precise, surrounded by Douglas firs and woodsy herbal aromas.
Fresh, with more fir, pine and bay laurel alongside the coastal sage. Well-structured and moreish.
Evocative and very long with citrus and lingering herbaceous notes.
A huge favourite of ours, it's just so evocative. Superb stuff.

Loved the complex woodsy flavor that lasted long on the palate
I live in the area, and can attest that this is very much like drinking a lovely hike on Mount Tam, or even Big Sur. Do not expect this to make itself at home in your classic martini or even your gin and tonic. Try the sample, and see how you like it; this is more of a standalone sipping gin, if there is such a thing; for that, it is a tour de force. Or concoct something just for this gin. This is California's coast in a bottle, rugged, delicate, dramatic. If you're seeking a cocktail gin from St. George, try the Botanivore.
Absolutely beautiful a gin that transports your taste buds to forests of California along with the perfume of a perfect Gin.
I picked up a bottle of this while visiting San Francisco and Alameda, turns out it's a great gin. I served it with loads of ice, a good tonic and grapefruit peel. The piney/fir taste makes for a really different gin but different in a good way, balanced out well by the grapefruit peel. I'd say it's now one of my favourites.
I did not like this at all. I tried to but I found the fir taste way too strong and weirdly tangy. I tried to fix the taste my creating a cocktail with blueberries and lemon in it but all I could taste was the fir.
