    St. George Dry Rye Gin

A rye whiskey, in gin's clothing. Made with a base of 100% rye, the St. George Dry Rye has a marvellous malty signature, warm and spicy. This is followed up by a small number of classic gin botanicals, including the obvious juniper berry, black peppercorn, caraway, coriander, grapefruit peel and lime peel. These were all chosen to compliment the warmth from the rye, and it certainly does just that!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Spices leap out at you, warming pepper and juniper, a little rocket, malt too. Grapefruit and lime, coriander, caraway, Wine Gums and Smith Kendon travel sweets.

    Palate

Malty, peppery juniper, Moroccan spices, rye and coriander.

    Finish

    Warming, flavoursome peppercorn, quite creamy.

    Overall

This is something else. And it's something we like muchly much.

    Rich and Warming

Agree with the poster below - this is definitely a different proposition to most normal (neutral) gins - you can tell that there's something of real substance going on here. Rich and juniper-forward - a worthy addition to the wonderful Terroir.

    A "warm" gin, rather unusual

To me, most gin is "cool", very herbal, refreshing, cleansing, suited to ice and summer days. This is not that type of gin. It's glowing warm. Don't mistake me, it's still recognizably gin; there's a wonderful note of nature in this, of growing things. But the glow of the rye base builds with peppery flames to the sparks of herbal heat. It feels like standing around a bonfire on a cool night, and feeling the warmth on my outstretched hands.
