An exotic, world spanning botanical basket makes Tarquin's Gin. This includes orris root from Morocco, green cardamom seeds from Guatemala, cinnamon from Madagascar, and crucially some locally foraged violets from the southwestern coast!
Southwestern Distillery produce small batches of their artisan Tarquin's Gin using their flame-fired copper pot still called Tamara, goddess of the Tamar. It's then bottled by hand and sent off into the world, to spread the news that Cornwall is producing some fabulous gin.
Lively with juniper, cardamom and a sweet breeze of orange blossom.
Incredibly fresh, with energetic but reserved green pine notes.
Crisp and dry, with a tasty spice that lasts.
Excellent Cornish gin. Tamara would be proud.
I wanted to love this gin. Coming from a tiny distiller in Cornwall from a guy who obviously has a passion or it. It's smooth with a hint of citrus but to be honest thats it. To justify its premium price it has to offer something different and I'm afraid it doesn't. Give me a rangpur or Ophir for something genuinely different for less money.
This is a nice Gin...But there are many NICE Gin's for less money than this. I was expecting something special and therefore disappointed. It does not do what it says on the tin. No hints of violet to be seen. Its fine to mix but will not be going anywhere near my Martini. If you want something special get a bottle of Dr. J's Gin....
A wonderful clean smell and taste with delicate after tones of violets. Too gorgeous for tonic!
Deliciously smooth, this gin is sublime simply on its own, on the rocks. Quality tonic optional and very refreshing.
I tried this in Hong Kong. Great to see great gin when abroad...
