Ramsbury Single Estate Gin is a classic London dry gin that aims to capture the local landscape in a bottle and apply a modern twist. The spirit is distilled in a copper still using Horatio wheat, grown on estate grounds, before the spirit is distilled again with botanicals including juniper picked locally on Salisbury Plain and quince also exclusive to Ramsbury Estate.
Floral tones and crisp quince fades into savoury juniper, with a refreshing finish and a touch of spice.
Got a bottle from the supermarket on the cheap and was pleasantly surprised. ALmost drinks like an Old Tom, most palatable on it's own. Would make a great martini. Not as piney as the Whitby Old Tom but certainly a budget version of same. Good in it's own right too!
I compared a few gins recently and I have to say that I really like this one - it is very smooth, possibly slightly sweeter than others, and has a unique and nicely subtle very enjoyable flavour - it's almost woody but very subtle. The mouth feel is very rounded and extremely enjoyable to drink in a gin and tonic. I love negronis but the flavours of this gin are too subtle to be noticed in a negroni, but if I blend it with Tanquerary it produces a happy medium.
Lovely smooth gin with very subtle undertones which I think comes from the quince, well worth sampling. The reviewer who Said it was awful should see his doctor about his awful taste buds. It’s a good job that I ignore reviews?
Lovely gin with subtle floral and citrus notes. Have bought again. A hidden gem!
Lovely gin. I’m not a big gin drinker tbh but I found this to be delicious. Smooth and quaffable, in a beautiful bottle. Their beer very is good too. Note: The review that said it was awful must be a joke/sour grapes. It is NOT biscuity or rancid. They must have no taste buds. Or just be competitor ?
