Moonshine Kid Dog's Nose Bottling Note

"Great things are not accomplished by those who yield to trends and fads and popular opinion... The Moonshine Kid stands for optimism, originality and bucking the curb."

The Moonshine Kid himself, aka Matt Whiley, was a founding member of Fluid Movement (the chaps behind Purl and the Worship Street Whistling Shop). Now pursuing his own projects, he's also the man behind Talented Mr Fox. Not content with producing a heady array of original ingredients for use in his own mixed creations, he's now adding to the wider conversation with a new brand of crafted spirits, distilled in W1, London.

Dog's Nose is Moonshine Kid's first release, cold-distilled under vacuum, it's a gin made with Chinook and Columbus hops alongside a selection of traditional botanicals. We're excited, and you should be too.

Moonshine Kid Dog's Nose Hop Gin Reviews

Mrs Claudia Phelvin

I am just sampling my second bottle of this which was a Christmas gift from my son. It is delicious! I am having it very cold with a slice of a fresh new lime and plenty of ice. Taking it slowly - really enjoying every sip!

Hoping to get another one soon!

One of most flavoursome gins I have ever tasted. So good in fact my dog Barnaby (Border collie) commented on its worth in the November edition of Cotswold Life that has just come out. The article includes a rather stunning photo of Barnaby admiring a bottle of the gin - perhaps you would like to use him as the gin's mascot? Helen Peacocke

Meh...

Not great.

And, "bucking the curb"..? That's not even a term - or not one that means anything, that is.

Nothing new

I was eager to try this as the branding looked very cool, and in a saturated market I was intrigued to see how this was going to stand out. unfortunately, it was a case of style of substance. 'Nice', but nothing new, and VERY expensive. Shame.

Hops

As a beer geek i was intrigued to see how hops could be incorporated into a spirt. You can really taste the resins and the aroma that you get with drinking a IPA. With tonic its very citrusy and fruit lead. I love showing this off to my unsuspecting beer friends...

Awesomeness

I have two loves.....gin and beer and this marries the two together in perfect balance. Finally found a gin that I can drink with my big hoppy IPA's

Thanks for stocking this Master of Malt I will be back to purchase more soon

Not for me

The bartender at One Leicester Street gave me some of this to try. Packaging is ok (perhaps a bit too hipster-bandwagon for my liking), but I really wasn't keen on the gin itself. The spirit is quite hot and the hop serves only to highlight it. Had no idea it was this expensive.
