This gin was released by the award-winning Notting Hill bar, Portobello Star, home of the Ginsitute. This is a place where one can learn an awful lot about gin, so you would expect Portobello Road No. 171 to be rather good, and indeed it is. It's an old-style London Dry Gin, containing traditional botanicals and spices, that harks back to the gins of yesteryear.
Hot white pepper and heavy berries with plenty of juniper.
Well-integrated spice, again with a healthy dose of juniper. Soft lemon grass flavours with a hint of red berries.
Dry, fresh and cleansing citrus.
An excellent, no-nonsense gin that deserves to be a back bar staple.
Quite disappointing... tried directly after an Adnams Copper House and it just fell flat on its face!

This is the first gin I bought for myself last year after becoming a gin drinker one fab weekend in London!Discovered it at Stylist show. ha Love it.Perfect first buy.
I was not too impressed. They dub it an "old school gin" which makes sense because "old school gins" tasted like rubbish.
