Dr. Squid Gin comes to us from the Pocketful of Stones Distillery in Penzance, which was made using a recipe that features real, no-foolin' squid ink! We squid you not! A rather savoury expression, with a coastal feeling to it, along with a few touches of citrus and spice. If that wasn't cool enough, it also turns bright pink when you mix it with tonic! It comes in a copper flask, engraved with all sorts of flora and fauna. It also looks like the eponymous Dr. Squid is on the label...
Savoury kitchen herbs, balanced by fresh lemon zest and meadowsweet.
Citrus sits at the core, with woody juniper following. Subtly floral at points, and a touch of sea breeze sneaks in later on.
Spring blossom and pine.

The good: Gin is lovely Bottle is amazing Very unique The cons: Expensive The bottle is near impossible to pour without spilling. This is a big one for me as you waste so much getting it out and it's expensive stuff.
Dr Squid Gin, unique! Dark squid ink tainted liquid turning pinkish with tonic. Its fresh, its different, its a superb gin. Nice balance of flavours. Copper flask makes for great presentation but agree its not the easiest to pour into a measure....at first. The weight of the cap is surprisingly heavy. I reckon the cost of the gin will be covered by the scrap value of the copper. Want something different. Try this masterpiece from Cornwall.
This is an interesting gin, a great gift, and it comes in a beautiful package. Be warned however that the neck is not well designed for pouring into a measure, resulting in spillage. We had to pour direct into the glass, resulting in larger measures :)
Bought for the wife . It's a strange bluey colour until you add tonic when it turns a pinkish hue . Very savoury but with floral and citrus notes . Even a devoted gin hater appreciated this ! And a very handsome copper flask .
Beautiful gin. Very citric and aromatic. Really smooth. My new favourite gin.
