Dr. Squid Gin comes to us from the Pocketful of Stones Distillery in Penzance, which was made using a recipe that features real, no-foolin' squid ink! We squid you not! A rather savoury expression, with a coastal feeling to it, along with a few touches of citrus and spice. If that wasn't cool enough, it also turns bright pink when you mix it with tonic! It comes in a copper flask, engraved with all sorts of flora and fauna. It also looks like the eponymous Dr. Squid is on the label...
Savoury kitchen herbs, balanced by fresh lemon zest and meadowsweet.
Citrus sits at the core, with woody juniper following. Subtly floral at points, and a touch of sea breeze sneaks in later on.
Spring blossom and pine.
Great packaging, even better gin! Highly recommended.
We really loved this one! Great as a g&t but really, enjoyed it in a negroni!
Great packaging and a nice trick with the colour change. But the taste is awful. Doesn’t taste like gin at all. Tastes like something industrial/ chemical. This one is just an expensive drain cleaner. If you like the idea of a colour change gin, grab a bottle of Six Dogs Blue or Piston Rose and Lychee. After throwing this down the sink, the bottle will become a pretty soap dispenser. Sorry to the people at the distillery for being so forthright but this is a real disappointment for us.
Lovely gin in a lovely bottle!
Got this as a birthday present and it’s just excellent! Lovely flavours make for a great g&t and the colour change and flask make it the perfect gift!
