Dr. Squid Gin comes to us from the Pocketful of Stones Distillery in Penzance, which was made using a recipe that features real, no-foolin' squid ink! We squid you not! A rather savoury expression, with a coastal feeling to it, along with a few touches of citrus and spice. If that wasn't cool enough, it also turns bright pink when you mix it with tonic! It comes in a copper flask, engraved with all sorts of flora and fauna. It also looks like the eponymous Dr. Squid is on the label...
Savoury kitchen herbs, balanced by fresh lemon zest and meadowsweet.
Citrus sits at the core, with woody juniper following. Subtly floral at points, and a touch of sea breeze sneaks in later on.
Spring blossom and pine.
Lovely gin but at the move to ive spilt more than I’ve drank. Very difficult to pour ?
Wow. This was superb. The taste and texture pleasured the pallet, with a warm after glow. The bottle is genius. We drank it neat in shot glasses. Couldn’t dilute that taste with pap. Needless to say, we polished it off through the evening. And guess what… No headache.
Fantastic gin with a little ‘theatre’ involved too....what is there not to like. All our friends loved the colour changes from blue/grey then over ice changes to more blue then to a green hue....then the tonic changes it to Pink wow what a star of the show...The receptacle is a great work of art...2 more please guys???
Gin, bottle design, branding, engraving, hands down the best spirit I’ve ever purchased!
Love the tin......love the gin, and having bought from the ginstall website I even got a pourer so no spillage or waste of top quality gin ?
