A long-standing favourite tipple, Plymouth Gin was one of the few gins to have a geographic indication, obviously pertaining to its eponymous city. However, Plymouth Gin lost this indication in 2015, although it is still of course produced in the city. This is the original gin from the distillery, crafted from seven botanicals in a pot still with a rather short neck, and is blended with Dartmoor water. It is then bottled into the classic ‘shaving bottle’, with its distinctive green glass.
Full and peppery with juniper berry, lemon oil and dried herbs. A little fennel.
Peppery and floral palate entry with hints of soft fruits, tangy juniper oil, pepper and coriander seed.
Long, spicy finish with berry fruits.
Absolutely amazing taste & aroma!!!!...Never tasted this until I was given a bottle for my birthday! Love it ! The best gin I have tasted in a long time sure to be my favourite from now on !! Thank U!?
Smells so good!!! It's amazing in g&ts or on its own with a dash of bitters. Top stuff
Speaking of quality - it feels much better than bombay or befeater. Feels very soft. Doesn't have strong smell of vodka (spirit) like bombay or befeater does. Imho it's Diplomatico among the gins.
Cant fault Plymouth Gin. I used it in a Sakura martini when i ran out of Japanese gin. Good stuff.
As long as you don’t disrespect this lovely gin with cheapo tonic it will be a friend for life.
