Oslo Håndverksdestilleri

Gin from the Oslo Håndverksdestilleri chaps, following on from their excellent Marka Nordic Bitter. The gin is styled on traditional British dry gin but is made with foraged local botanicals from the Norwegian mountains including heather, yarrow, chamomile, bilberry, angelica root and meadowsweet. The clue is in the name you see, with Vidda meaning 'mountain plateau' and Tørr meaning 'dry'.
Impressive citric pine forest, earthy turmeric, thyme, meadowsweet, pink peppercorns, violet, carnation, fresh mint and a core of juniper throughout.
Sweet juniper is central, good mouthfeel, more fresh and spicy mountain flora in support.
Quite clean with hints of sweet fennel, flowers and all.

This gin is pretty overpowering with the pine flavours however I found if you add a flavoured tonic it is lovely. This stops it being so overpowering so you can enjoy it.
Love it! Refreshingly different. Smells and tastes really fresh. Evokes brisk walks in cool forests.
It’s horrible
Awful gin. Too chemically. Pine overpowering
mom is quite right here again. its like deep forest style, juniper is sometimes rotten in a good way. so not light and floral at all.. and some absinth nuances in the nose..sweet juniper and pepper taste mostly, lots of juniper actually, FOREST, even moss and heather maybe.. and just a hint of alcohol but its combined with pepper, no problem.. good for the nordic forest walks for sure as they hint in the label.
