An 'unmistakably Orcadian' gin made with locally grown botanicals including Ramanas Rose, Burnet Rose, Angelica and Borage. The inclusion of Angelica was inspired by a story that suggested Angelica was brought to the Orkney islands by Norsemen, and can still be found growing there. Further connection to Orkney's heritage comes from the name, Kirkjuvagr, which means 'Church Bay' in Old Norse.
Peppery juniper and salty sea air (salt and pepper is a classic combo, after all...), floral dandelion.
Candied peels, coriander. A bit perfume-y in spots.
Drying spice, vanilla-y angelica and a resurgence of sea spray salinity.
Perhaps a bit of an acquired taste but this is the gin I turn to when I want to relax and savour. 50ml, two ice cubes and sometimes a slice of lemon or even sipped neat is my idea of heaven!
One of my favourite Scottish Gins! Perfect smooth London Dry, preferred mine with grapefruit Mediterranean tonic.
Fairly standard gin. Not bad but nothing special for price.
A fantastically smooth, classic London dry style. Perfect balance of floral vs citrus notes, and at 43% it works nicely in a negroni or Martini
I was ever so excited to try this, classy bottle! Slightly disappointed however it is drinkable with tonic.
