Molotov London Dry Gin comes to us all the way from Yorkshire, made with a delicious medley of botanicals, including juniper, orange, fresh grapefruit, nutmeg, lemongrass, fennel seed, ginger, lime leaves, coriander, angelica, red peppercorn and wormwood. The producers were looking for a botanical recipe that would be a taste explosion in cocktails and mixed drinks - hence the name.
Juniper is powerful at the fore, bolstered by the peppercorn and coriander. Juicy citrus gives it sweetness, while fennel seed adds some intense herbaceous elements.
Citrus nose, but an unpleasant after taste. I find it actually clashes badly with berry based cocktails. I find myself hiding it under the bar because the label looks cheap - but that’s just my opinion
Far to harsh for anyones taste buds. Burns and isn't smooth.
Received a bottle of this for Christmas and it actually was dreadful. No smoothness and burnt on the way down. I looked into this company and their isn't much information about them. This leads me to think other reviewers are right that it's a white labelled product. Advice is treat yourself to another gin. For this price you can get an amazing aged gin from an company that takes care in the distilling process. Thank-you for the present Santa but next time i'll take the cash.
Decided to look beyond the cheap branding of this gin based on all the rave reviews in short period of time (every review 5 stars!). Took the plunge and was hugely disappointing, wasn't smooth at all like other similarly priced gins, quite aggressive taste and not worth the money. Since noted someone has said its a white label product, this makes more sense now.
Don't believe all the 5 star reviews. Was intrigued by this gin, despite its cheap branding it had amazing reviews, so was on my list to try. Disappointingly though its another 'print your own label' product and certainly not even worth a fraction of what I paid.
