Pineau des Charentes Cask Aged Gin 19 Month Old 2017 (Master of Malt)
Pineau des Charentes is a French fortified wine that combines grape juice and must with Cognac eau-de-vie before gentle maturation. Its sweet and delicately fruity character offers a subtle complexity and delicate Cognac-like character that just so happens to meld magnificently with gin. How do we know? We did it right here! This addition to our exclusive Master of Malt collection is a gin that we treated to a 19 month stay in a tiny little octave cask that previously held Pineau des Charentes. Intriguing, right? It'll work a treat in a French 75. A release of 49 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Juniper berries, lemon balm, a touch of floral tea, orange pith and vine leaves, with subtle, delicately sweet oak and vanilla in the distance.
Palate
The oak is more apparent on the palate, bringing notes of soft butterscotch and warming peppercorns to the tangle of juniper, pine, and resinous botanicals.
Finish
Drying citrus is balanced by floral vanilla and soaked sultanas, as the spices mellow out, leaving a crunch of woody juniper on the tail.
