Lussa Gin is a native of the Isle of Jura, distilled in Ardlussa by a trio of adventurers using a selection of botanicals grown on the island, foraged by the team. They even go out on the river in their kayak to hunt for sea lettuce! Like we says, they're adventurers.
Orange blossom and lemon balm, slightly savoury hints of oat biscuits.
Peppermint and lemongrass, with touches of oily juniper developing.
Fresh and floral, with peppery spice lingering.
$32.44 - $71.30
Like previous reviewers have described, this is an absolutely lovely gin! So full of zesty notes and extremely aromatic, it's the best gin Ive ever had! Don't know what the other reviewer meant about its industrial taste, they must have got Lussa mixed up with another gin...make no mistake, this is beautiful!
Going to the home of this bespoke gin was an adventure, Georgina explained the process and history of this stunning Small production gin . Everything can be found on the island of Jura the flora notes shone out when first trying the gin au natural and were then highlighted with a plain tonic. The flavour notes played on your palate . Was lovely to meet these Entrepreneurial ladies who passion for their product shone thought. Well worth the effort of the one track road , but can be bought from other discerning outlets.
Make no mistake, it is a bit of a trek to get to Lussa gin distillery, think ferry's and miles of single track....track. But for those hardy folk that do make the effort, it is well worth it. The unique combination of native botanicals give this gin a wonderful nose and flavour which the cottage industry style of production and warm welcome which awaits only makes the whole experience more rewarding. Enjoyed both straight and with tonic.
We stumbled across Lussa's distillery while exploring Jura last month. We met Claire Fletcher and were impressed by the story of this lovely spirt and then all 6 of us were blown away by the subtle and delightful notes of each aromatic in Lussa Gin. Its delicious! This is truly an artisan product that is worth every penny. You will be impressed and want to share this Gin with friends (and keep a bottle behind just for yourselves). Highly Recommended.
The best!
