KURO Gin
A Japanese-inspired London dry gin innovatively crafted at Cheshire Distillery in the UK using botanicals from the Land of the Rising Sun – think silver birch bark, spruce needles and bamboo-activated charcoal. 'KURO' translates from Japanese as 'black', a nod to idea being born at the top of a black ski run whilst on a trip to Japan. The pair behind the concept hope the earthy, aromatic spirit evokes the Hakuba Valley's alpine slopes.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Green, woody and refreshingly crisp – just like a sunny Japanese morning out on the pistes.
Palate
Juniper is more prominent here. A toasty, earthy quality comes through but not at the expense of the classic airy citrus – KURO still retains a London dry character.
Finish
Long, warm and smooth – with more of those earthy woods.
Overall
A complex, wood-led twist on the well-known, well-loved London dry style.
