King's Hill
All the way from the Pentland Hills in Scotland comes King's Hill Gin, made with a combination of botanicals that includes juniper, coriander, orris root, elderflower and gorse. The name is a reference to a bet made by King Robert the Bruce and Sir William Sinclair of Roslin - not a reference to the classic cartoon 'King of the Hill'.
Liquorice, soft orange, thyme and menthol. Rather cooling - ought to make for great refreshing cocktails.
I recently tried this gin as the bottle design really stood out amongst the others on the shelf. The bottle is of high quality and I like the glass stopper which I don’t see that often with other gins. The story behind the gin is really captivating, a great untold snippet of Scottish history which I was completely unaware of prior to purchasing this gin! Great citrus flavour notes making grapefruit a superb accompaniment to this, with tonic. I had mine with Mediterranean Fever Tree, another great combination. Great buy, I highly recommend!
Superb new Scottish gin! Traditional juniper led gin in classic London Dry Style. A fine balance of locally foraged botanicals gives a delicious fresh punchy note with a fantastically smooth finish. Try with med Tonic and grapefruit, absolutely delicious! Beautiful bottle, gin and story. Highly recommend. Came out top on more than one occasion during our blind tastings.
