    Jensen's Bermondsey Gin

Jensen's Bermondsey Gin harks back to the mid-20th century and the quality gins produced before the '80s and '90s, where some say the spirit languished somewhat. This expression is a London dry gin, boasting a host of traditional gin botanicals built around a solid core of juniper, though those other botanicals do get their fair share of attention. Excellent in a Martini, we will say! As you might have guessed from the name, it's distilled in Bermondsey – which again plays into the history of gin, as a few big brands (which are still around today) began their story in Bermondsey too.

    Superb London gin

Definitely not for those who worry about form (=packaging/labelling) over substance. A true classic. Makes superb martinis. Will not readily appeal to those who are attracted by fancy labels and fancy bottles, which seems ro be the majority of gin drinkers these days.

Good but not up to its reputation

I know this gin is held in high esteem in the industry but it didn't do it for me. There was just nothing that special about it. Good but not great. It was a bit lightweight even at one to one with the tonic. And there's a lot of gins in this category. The bottle looked cheap with a label that could have been printed with Letraset. No botanicals listed on the label, either. I paid £25 for it although the label had a stuck on £35.99 price but even at £25 it was OK, nothing more. Sorry.

    Simply the best

Simply the best. Try it with spartling apple cider or home made apple juice - yum yum

    Nice

This is a great all-rounder of a gin; really well balanced and not too dry.
