James May, television presenter, part owner of a pub, and creator of his own gin range has come up with an impressive, and rather unusual offering here! Asian Parsnip gin is made with a whole host of cleverly compiled botanicals. There's parsnip and juniper, obviously, accompanied by ginger, caraway seed, cubeb pepper, fenugreek, sweet orange... the list goes on! An impressively balanced, delicately sweet, spiced, and zesty sipper, this ought to please all the gin connoisseurs out there.
Generous helpings of bold juniper and sweet, tangy citrus peels rest upon layers of delicate spice, tailing off with subtle sweet notes of parsnip.
Asian Parsnip?! Yes indeed! Once you've taken a couple of your first sips, you'll realise the name is not just some clever marketing. This is definitely a gin - lots of Juniper berries, but what immediately hits the taste buds and nose is the rounded blend of earthy Parsnips and spices.. then the long finish of berries and ginger. A complex yet smooth easy drink. We prefer it Neat served straight out the freezer.
