A gin with a sense of place, being made with Isle of Wight rock samphire and Boadicea hops alongside juniper, coriander seeds, fresh lemon zest, grains of paradise, angelica, liquorice, orris and elderflower.
Earthy sweetness and some citrus zing with a touch of sea air and warming pepper.

I love this gin and my purchase of it this time was as a gift for a couple of special people who have been very kind to me. I can only hope that they enjoy it as much as I do
Beautiful gin, well balanced and lovely on a summers day, the whole range is delightful.
First of all, this isn’t your typical gin. If you’re looking for juniper and citrus, this isn’t for you. The flavour profile of this gin is like Hendrick’s. In other words, Mermaid Gin doesn’t taste all that much like gin. Since herbs, florals and seaweed come to the fore, what you get is like a splash of a summer day down at the beach, making this gin a refreshing drink, but certainly not what you’d expect from a traditional dry or citrus gin.
Mermaid Gin doesn’t taste like gin, so perhaps that’s where all this confusion comes from. The experience of taking a sip of Mermaid is like standing on a windy cliff overlooking the ocean on a sunny day and taking in the fragrances of your surroundings. If you’re expecting a rustic, herbaceous version of a London Dry Gin, this isn’t it. What Mermaid reminds of is Hendrick’s. In the same way that Hendrick’s emphasizes cucumber, Mermaid emphasizes the fragrances and sensations of the North Sea. I happen to love Hendrick’s, and I think Mermaid was created with the same intention: push the Juniper and citrus to the back, and emphasize flavours that are reminiscent of a summer day at the beach. And for that, I say: Well done !!!
I really like this gin. I tried it on a whim and it’s now a staple in my gin cupboard. Beautiful with a decent tonic, slices of dried lemon and lime or change it up with some cucumber slides. Yum.
