I feel the first reviewer might have a bit of beef with the creator of this gin. I highly recommend trying this delicious craft gin! Make up your own mind.
Having tried both this and the Inshriach Navy Strength Gin I was pleasantly surprised by its qaufability.. refreshing and lively. Try the Navy strength if you like the same great taste with a little more punch.
Never used to be a fan of gin but this delicious drink converted me! I can highly recommend it, especially if you like your drink neat.
Great to see a gin from Scotland which a) isn't just a stop gap for a whisky distillery while they wait for their whisky to age b) isn't trying to be a trend setter or use gimmicky botanicals c) tastes like gin The Inshriach original is a solid, classic style gin which mixes particularly well in light citrus led cocktails, try it in a Pegu Club, for those who prefer to keep it simple, upgrade to the Navy Strength in your G&T
I have had the privilege of drinking both the 43% and the 57% and I must say that both are exceptionally well constructed gins. The Juniper is balanced with other subtle highland herbs but in my honest opinion, if I had to choose then my preference is the 57% Navy Strength. Its sublimation of flavour, doesn't need any tonic or addition to experience a gin worthy of sipping neat. Within a few sips it is clear that the 57% well constructed gin stands in a class above almost every gin I have tasted for its quality, smoothness and flavour which I know is bold statement coming from a seasoned drinker of fine single malts and quality gins. I'm sure many will have there own recipes and accoutrement for the simple gin and tonic but in truth a gin that is a pleasure to sip on its own, surely speaks for itself.
