    Half Hitch

    Half Hitch Gin

When you hear the word Camden, what do you think about? The music? The markets? Well, if you were around in the latter half of the 1800s, you might know Camden more for its gin (you also might be indestructible if you're reading this and were around in the late 1800s). Some of that history still exists - take a look at the street called Juniper Crescent, for example.

While those times may have passed, Half Hitch Gin is bringing gin back to Camden. Produced in the former warehouse vaults of Camden Lock, Half Hitch gin is made with a gin base that is blended with tinctures of Malawian black tea, pepper, hay, English wood and bergamot. The name itself was inspired by the knots used to tie barges to the Lock.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Citrus reveals itself first, and is swiftly followed by a bright delivery of herbal tea and black pepper. Subtle juniper comes through.

    Palate

Peppery juniper and pine tree freshness take hold, supported by the complex black tea and bergamot.

    Finish

Long and drying notes of orange peel, juniper and evocative tea notes.

    Thoroughly enjoyable

Very, very pleasant. Have been trying it with Fevertree and a slice of cucumber, and judging by previous reviews, it balances very well with other flavours.

    Local lad makes good.

I knew Mark Holdsworth from earliest HH days as we lived around the corner in K Town. Met AFTER trying & loving his work atva tssting in Hampstead. Uded to deliver by motorbike I believe. Still my fave gin.

I have known Mark and Half Hitch since meeting in its earliest days (when I believe he delivered by motorbike. The combination of bergamot & black tea was always a winner for me. But sadly now living in Bath and the bottle runs dry.

Very smooth gin with a fantastic blend of flavours.

My favourite Gin. Super smooth on its own or in a Gin and Tonic garnished with a slice of orange and a stick of cinnamon. It always impresses when I offer it to friends.

    Very nice

Tried some today in the white horse in Exchange Square by Liverpool Street Station , with and without tonic, strangely it was nicer for me on its own, no bitter aftertaste and really smooth. ??
