This fragrant Tuscan gin is named after the Italian saying, 'cacciarsi in un ginepraio', which means to get stuck in a mess, an homage to the trouble the founders had sourcing organic botanicals for the gin. But, they overcame their problems and settled on seven local botanicals, including juniper, dog-rose and helichrysum (a wild plant found on the Tyrrhenian side of Italy and in Sardinia). These are infused in the spirit for over a week before distillation and bottling at 45% ABV. The dictionary definition of 'ginepraio' is printed on the label, though you'll have to brush up on your Italian to read it.
Juniper dominates, leading into tart floral notes, a slightly balsamic notes and a lingering citrus finish.
