    Not a bad gin

If you are mixing gin and drink more than one Greenalls is an excellent value!

Master of Malt Customer May 3, 2014

Not what it used to be

I used to love Greenall's Gin but what others have said here is true... It used to be a 40% vol product at a very reasonable price. By reducing it to 37.5% it's now in a different market with all the others and it just isn't worth it at the price. A good deal of the pleasure of a bottle is just having something a little bit different. Sometimes it's a nice bottle, other times it's having something just a little stronger. Having a gin at 40% gave at least some confidence you weren't getting same gin that fills other generic bottles. On a taste note, I think it's lost its edge. Luckily our local Co-Op still has some of the real 40% stuff, but for how long... I'd note that according to Wikipedia Gordon's pulled the same stunt in 1992.

    great traditional gin

dear reviewers & fellow gin drinkers, forgive me but your comments are exactly what you seem to despise. Lowering ABV as an attempt for profit taking away value from you. Sound as if someone claiming that was a terrible boozer. Regardless of the change, mind you hardly detectable on palate, it's a great traditional London Dry. In addition it's one of most affordable ones. Best regards, Anna Smith

    Greenall's Gin

Dear Sir, How can I give a favourable review when you have craftily reduced the alcohol content from 40% down to 37.5%. Not only have I seen no reduction in price but more importantly the taste does not "pack" its previous punch and intenseness and therefore the absolute pleasure from your drink has been dramatically, adversely and irreversibly affected. For these reasons I see no good reason to continue buying Greenall's as you are now just the same as Gordon's etc. i.e. light flavoured and wishy-washy, and any value for money element pails into insignificance. Similar to previous commentators I have to assume that your previous high solely quality has been sacrificed on the altar of profit!!! Regards, Graeme Fisher

    I mean really...

what a bl**dy cheek. Stopped drinking Gordon's fpr this very reason. Sa insbury's taste the difference from no on. 43% abv & £15 a bottle
