Ferdinand's Saar Gin

Ferdinand's Saar Dry Gin features a particularly intricate recipe, with 30 different botanicals in the mix, including thyme, sloe and rose hip, among (many) others. As if that wasn't enough, the German distillers add a very specific amount of fruity, semi-sweet Riesling. There's lots going on in Ferdinand's Saar Dry Gin, but it's all well balanced and yummy - it's really quite an experience!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Fragrant, natural notes of lavender and lemongrass, with a little bit of real citrus shortly following. Fresh juniper, lively though not at the forefront.

Palate Lemons, limes and thyme. Juniper at the centre, though once again it lets the surrounding flavours take the driver's seat. Warming notes of ginger.

Finish Long and full of fruit notes.

Overall Saar Dry Gin will definitely stick in your mind for a long while afterwards.

Reviews for Ferdinand's Saar Dry Gin
Best out of 50..
My absolute favorite Gin in the around 50 or more i ever tasted.
As stated "a league on its own". There's so much craft gins around from germany which are all very good - Monkey 47, Gin Sul, Penninger Granit, The Duke - to only note some..
They all play in the major gin league. This one has a distinctive flavor, coming from the Riesling infusion.. hard to describe, does not like the "Birds" taste like a vermouth at all.
Just a gorgeous drink..

Stunning
Plenty of botanicals which of course doesn't necessarily guarantee quality but this German gin is crafted beautifully and the dash of Reisling only adds to the complexity. It comes beautifully wrapped too.

light gin very floral
This was a lovely fresh light tasting gin , one of those rare ones that invoke a summer evening . Served with a fever tree tonic and ice definitely one to return to. If you don't like the first hit of juniper this arrives at the end after you have tasted the lemon and fizz reminiscent of the Reisling wine, not overly sweet.

A gin sensation
I cannot begin to list the exceptional qualities of this quite exquisite gin. For me it was like sipping on a liquid lemon sherbert, and the idea of adding tonic was, for once, something that did not even cross my mind. Drink it neat and you will experience that wonderful deep and complex flavour that the Riesling adds to the already heady gingery fizziness that hits you immediately. This quickly rose above all other gins I own and has almost made me loth to ever drink anything else. It's worth the price as the quality shines through from the first sip. Add this to your booze cabinet and impress gin lovers and loathers alike as I'm sure they'll be turned into inthusiasts as soon as they try it. Quite simply put, a beautiful, exciting and very unique gin which will make your tastebuds high five your mouth.
