Behold, Batch #2 of the Dornoch Experimental Batches. All ten of these small batch gins were made from scratch with organic floor malted Odyssey barley (no bought-in neutral grain spirit at all! #milltostill) at the equally-as-small Dornoch distillery. Along with their core botanical selection, Batch #2 also features single botanical runs of basil, strawberry and black pepper!
Earthy basil is clear as day on the nose. Soft lime and strawberry in support.
Black pepper comes to the fore, complementing the juniper and acting as a foil to the strawberry.
Slightly savoury notes arrive alongside aniseed and pine.

When you like your Gin being over spiced, this is the Gin for you! I do like a peppery note in the back. But this is a full frontal hit and run :) I guess this Gin is for the brave!
Completely overpowered by black pepper. Very disappointing batch
