The second release in Darnley's Cottage Series is Smoke & Zest Gin! It's distilled with Fife-grown barley smoked over pine wood chips, along with orange peel, Lapsang Souchong tea and local rowanberry. We can't wait to try this in a Negroni...
Orange citrus straight off the bat, with fragrant smoke and black pepper, with piney juniper leading into more lingering citrus and smoke on the finish.

I loved the combination between gin and whisky that this gin gets across. It is one of the strangest gins I have ever had and one of my favourites.
Not their best. ?
Not one of Darnley’s better gins. It is very Smokey and lacks the juniper punch of their main stream gins. It tastes more like a poor Smokey whisky than a gin because the Smokey taste masks the juniper.
Too Smokey. It comes across as an over smoked young whiskey that lacks the punch of the juniper needed in a good gin. Not in the same league as their mainline offerings.
