A small batch Scottish gin from the Balmenach distillery in Speyside. Caorunn (pronounced ka-roon), made with a combination of traditional and handpicked botanicals including rowan berry, heather, coul blush apple and dandelion.
Floral at first, with notes of heather and citrus blossom. Juniper takes shape as it develops.
Orange oil, rosemary and a subtle sweetness of heather honey.
Drying juniper and leafy herbs. A pinch of peppery rye lingers.
MY WIFE CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF IT! SHE USES FEVER TREE NATURAL WATER WITH PLENTY OF ICE AND SLICES OF APPLE. A GOOD CHOICE OF MINE AT CHRISTMAS!!
This is quite a smooth and subtle gin - one of my two favourite gins currently for Martinis. A bit more interesting than the Beefeater or Bombay Dry version, but less intense than the one with Tanqueray No 10, which I go for when I need a more intense Martini. Excellent addition to any bar in my opinion!
I have come to gin late in life and to date have loved the vapour infused ones but this is just amazing. Absolutely love it. It's on a whole new level it really is. Subtle and delicious.
This thing has almost no nose, very little palate. Interesting long finish, sweet.
''Amazing '' What more can one say , started with a miniature from our holiday in Scotland and now we are still on an adventure with this Gin. Surpasses any other by miles !!! looking forward too the next bottle of Caorunn from our local Fine Wine Importers at Oakdene Ulnes Walton . ps working on some jams and marmalades with a Scottish Twist .
