From Brockmans distillery comes Brockmans Intensely Smooth Gin. Its unique selection of botanicals including Tuscan juniper berries, Bulgarian coriander, blueberries, blackberries and bittersweet Valencian orange peel are steeped in grain spirit. It is then distilled in a 100 year old copper still, with the final gin boasting, as its name may suggest, an intensely smooth profile. The moody and opaque bottle is somewhat alluring...
Try mixing up a Maratini with this delicious recipe below!
60ml Brockmans Gin
60ml Pink grapefruit juice
30ml Maraschino liqueur
7.5ml Lemon juice
7.5ml Sugar syrup
Add all the ingredients to a shaker filled with ice, and give it a good shake. Double strain into a chilled martini glass. Flambé* a strip of pink grapefruit peel over the glass and wipe the peel around the rim. Garnish with a slice of pink grapefruit or peg of citrus peel and enjoy!
*Hold a lit match a few inches above the glass. From a couple of inches away, squeeze the grapefruit peel towards the flame.
Fruity nose with hints of cooked fruit, strawberry, damson jam, hints of blossom and almond.
Nutty, fruity palate. Blueberries, juniper and soft aniseed notes.
Short, with liquorice root and herbs.
Embarrassing liqueur. Just sugar and flavourings. V artificial.
Sickeningly sweet fruity odor overwhelms any of the botanicals supposedly infused into this off-putting concoction. The hokey-looking bottle design fits the contents. This fruit bomb is not for anyone who likes real gin.
The best.
My absolute favourite - after trying many gins over the years this remains the one I like best. Forget the gin snobs saying it’s not a gin - as if that matters!! Clearly a gin you either love or hate, but the vast majority of people I’ve introduced it to also love it.
Best gin I've tried so far. I prefer it with ginger ale absolutely delicious.
