From Brockmans distillery comes Brockmans Intensely Smooth Gin. Its unique selection of botanicals including Tuscan juniper berries, Bulgarian coriander, blueberries, blackberries and bittersweet Valencian orange peel are steeped in grain spirit. It is then distilled in a 100 year old copper still, with the final gin boasting, as its name may suggest, an intensely smooth profile. The moody and opaque bottle is somewhat alluring...
Try mixing up a Maratini with this delicious recipe below!
60ml Brockmans Gin
60ml Pink grapefruit juice
30ml Maraschino liqueur
7.5ml Lemon juice
7.5ml Sugar syrup
Add all the ingredients to a shaker filled with ice, and give it a good shake. Double strain into a chilled martini glass. Flambé* a strip of pink grapefruit peel over the glass and wipe the peel around the rim. Garnish with a slice of pink grapefruit or peg of citrus peel and enjoy!
*Hold a lit match a few inches above the glass. From a couple of inches away, squeeze the grapefruit peel towards the flame.
Fruity nose with hints of cooked fruit, strawberry, damson jam, hints of blossom and almond.
Nutty, fruity palate. Blueberries, juniper and soft aniseed notes.
Short, with liquorice root and herbs.
This is a love it or hate it gin. Not my cup of tea. Just plain flat. No bite at all. But if that's your thing when it comes to gin grab a bottle.
Best gin I’ve tried. Perfect with grapefruit and FeverTree tonic.
Not good. In fact very bad. Tastes like children's boiled sweets...cheap ones. Problem is how do I tell friend who gave it to me. Can't let her try it nor can I lie...incase she gets me another bottle.
Subtle...some complexity...needs to be held in the mouth a while to work through the flavours. Ok neat...good with Elderflower tonic or Elderflower presse. Floral fruit notes are dominant but this is not one for the Juniper fans.
Fuckin’ good! That’s all....
