Brockmans Gin Bottling Note

From Brockmans distillery comes Brockmans Intensely Smooth Gin. It’s unique selection of botanicals including Tuscan juniper berries, Bulgarian coriander, blueberries, blackberries and bittersweet Valencian orange peel are steeped in grain spirit. It is then distilled in a 100 year old copper still, with the final gin boasting, as its name may suggest, an intensely smooth profile. The moody and opaque bottle is somewhat alluring...

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Fruity nose with hints of cooked fruit, strawberry, damson jam, hints of blossom and almond.

Palate: Nutty, fruity palate. Blueberries, juniper and soft aniseed notes.

Finish: Short, with liquorice root and herbs.

Brockmans Intensely Smooth Gin Reviews

Mega Brockers

My wife and I have been drinking Brockmans for over ten years now,and it’s one of our favourite gins,I think anyone who doesn’t love Brockmans is mmmmm !

25th November 2020

All the taste of Benylin but without the opiates.

I drink gin to keep thin, and the nose and mouthfeel of Brockmans gives off a heightened sense of dead calories. It is unnervingly sweet. The taste is watered down Benylin. And that's Benylin without that cosy codeine hug. Just headachy berry sucrose. I can't find any other botanicals in there, it is about as complex as a glade plug-in and as subtle as a yankee candle.

5th November 2020

Very sorry but I don’t regard that it tastes like a gin in any way. I agree with another reviewer who mentions “cheap liquor” as, to me, it does have a cheap liquor/firewater taste, badly masked by the airy fairy cheap waft of blackcurrant. So many people love it. I don’t think there is a mixer that could ever work with it or a piece of fruit to complement it. Not a pleasure to drink just an annoyance. As they say, “curiosity killed the cat”. And , “you can’t fool all the people, all of the time”. An expensive mistake!

28th October 2020

The best.

My favourite gin. Needs to be paired with a standard tonic, not a flavoured one so you can taste the gin.

27th September 2020

Fantastic gin

The best gin overall, drinkable for all in it's pure form.

22nd August 2020

Best gin I’ve had!

My favourite

1st July 2020

Fantastic gin, definitely underrated.

This is most definitely my favourite gin. Served over ice with a good (regular, not slim or flavoured) tonic, with a slice of grapefruit. It's more fruity than botanical but it's subtle and delicious.

3rd June 2020

Great gin

A part of me thinks that blackberry and blueberry aren’t flavours that belong in gin. Having said that they don’t overpower it whatsoever and the flavours are harmoniously balanced. A very smooth complex gin

1st June 2020

My Fav Gin

Smooth and delicious!

4th January 2020

A Very Berry Gin

A stylish bottle, with berry flavours, If you like flavoured gin, this is for you. Subtle flavours and good with black peppercorns.

22nd December 2019

Love it

Fruity and smooth I like that

7th December 2019

One of the first drinks my other half got me at the bar when we met. It's become a signature for us now. One of the best

29th November 2019

It’s a belter

This is my (current) favorite gin. Very berry in both the nose and taste

12th November 2019

Love it

Best Gin ever.

3rd November 2019

Not a gin, dishwater taste, cheap liquor, waste of money

14th September 2019

Tastes like watered down Ribena. I hated it.

19th August 2019

Best ever

I’ve tried a few gins in my time, however this has to be my absolute favourite ever! Such a delicate floral berry undertone, soooo smooth, simply delicious 😋

17th August 2019

Best gin ever!

7th August 2019

Taste, explore, experience, enjoy

So funny...i reviewed this on my fb page and it pretty much sums up these reviews.
Reviews are like children, yours are the best. That being said, this is a gin. It has juniper. There. Matter settled. Is it a "classic" style of gin? Certainly not, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. If you only like dry, or gin with a bite, this isn't going to be in your wheelhouse. If you like to be adventuerous, this might be one to try.
For me, gin is like jazz. Not everybody "gets it", and some only like the "way it used to be", forgetting that jazz is about exploration and development. The juniper is there, holding down the baseline in the backround, playing well with the others, letting them do their thing, not trying to hog the spotlight.
Me?? I really, really dig it, man. I enjoy the fruity nose, just sweet enough intro, and the balanced finish.
Still, to some, jazz is just noise.....

4th May 2019

Beautiful Gin

Lovely tasting Gin all of you who rubbish this Gin are clearly not Gin lovers and need your heads testing

31st March 2019

Loved it

Fruity rather than floral botanicals. Top of my list and will be ordering again.

9th March 2019

Afterwork gin

Great for one GT, if you have more than one then change to different. The sweetness/floral taste will be overwhelming when overconsumed. However one of the best one gins, for that one relaxer after work.

28th February 2019

Get to fuck

Get to fuck you negative nancy’s. This is a belting gin. Get back to the drawing board!!!!

3rd February 2019

Not good!

Tastes of artificial sweetener, blahh.
If you like akcopops this may be for you.

30th January 2019

Lovely 😊

Lovely gin best with fever tree ginger ale and a slice of orange think some people have been having the wrong mixers with it

30th November 2018

Not Gin at all

Utter rubbish, not even a Gin! In simple terms of you want a sticky sweet distilled glass of Ribena then maybe this is your thing if you like actual Gin then steer clear of this

18th November 2018

Unusual gin with orange notes

Gorgeous - this gin is unusual. It's got an orange twang - perfect served with a slice or red grapefruit rind and a few blueberries. Really perfect for Christmas.

16th November 2018

Not your typical gin

I am a gin drinker and this is NOT gin!
Do not make a martini with this unless you want a fruity liqueur type.
I will stick with Bombay.

14th November 2018

No no

Tastes like it has cheap diluting squash mixed in! Overrated me thinks!

13th November 2018

Fruity Smelling

Just at the Robinson brewery gin tasting ...lovely gin ...smells sweet, strong taste - try without tonic.....

20th September 2018

Five star all day long.

Best gin eva!!! My go to gin.

14th September 2018

Soooooo good x

Amazing 😍

25th August 2018

Smooth and Distinct

Definitely not your classic gin, but that’s what I love about it. It’s fruity and complex with a smooth finish. Easy to drink without being sick sweet.

11th August 2018

Love or hate

This is a love it or hate it gin. Not my cup of tea. Just plain flat. No bite at all. But if that's your thing when it comes to gin grab a bottle.

6th August 2018

Best gin I’ve tried. Perfect with grapefruit and FeverTree tonic.

4th July 2018

This NOT a gin. NO STARS

Not good. In fact very bad. Tastes like children's boiled ones. Problem is how do I tell friend who gave it to me. Can't let her try it nor can I lie...incase she gets me another bottle.

1st July 2018

Delicate, Floral and Fruity

Subtle...some complexity...needs to be held in the mouth a while to work through the flavours. Ok neat...good with Elderflower tonic or Elderflower presse. Floral fruit notes are dominant but this is not one for the Juniper fans.

23rd June 2018

Must try

Fuckin’ good!
That’s all....

22nd June 2018

Panda Pop flavoured liqueur

One of the worst ‘gins’ I've ever encountered. (There are a lot of mediocre/plain bad ‘gins out there).

Reminiscent of Panda Pops.

Garnish with a blueberry? Because that brings out an aspect of the gin or compliments any flavours? No! A blueberry adds nothing unless you crush it into the drink for a cloudy bitty mess.

This is a sweet, horrible gimmick and that is it. Label it as a panda pop flavoured liqueur and I’d be fine with that but do not sully the name of gin any longer, there are enough brands doing that these days!

14th June 2018

Don’t expect the usual gin

As a fan of gins such as Monkey 47, Hendricks and Sipsmith this is very different. I’m not getting the traditional gin tones which isn’t a terrible thing, it’s smooth and fruity with a strong hit of black currant.

5th May 2018

Not for the classic gin drinker!

Smooth because it’s not a predominant taste of juniper. Open the lid and smells like Blackcurrent juice. Doesn’t taste that different to blackcurrant juice either. Furious that I paid £30+ for this. Having to mix it with a basic gin just to use it up.

21st April 2018

Super Gin and some

That Gin is the dogs! Beware purists trying to frighten the newbies like myself off trying it. That is fruity, zesty and warm with a blue tinge in the glass. Just tried it for the first time at Rode Hall Cricket club Beer and Gin festival which closes today. Absolutely stunning and I’m after a bottle or two for home soon. Super Gin.

8th April 2018

What the hell did I just put in my mouth?? And how do you give no stars instead of half a star?

6th April 2018

Alcopop 'gin'

Embarrassing liqueur. Just sugar and flavourings. V artificial.

29th March 2018

No stars

Sickeningly sweet fruity odor overwhelms any of the botanicals supposedly infused into this off-putting concoction. The hokey-looking bottle design fits the contents. This fruit bomb is not for anyone who likes real gin.

18th March 2018

The best.

The best.

14th February 2018

The best!

My absolute favourite - after trying many gins over the years this remains the one I like best. Forget the gin snobs saying it’s not a gin - as if that matters!! Clearly a gin you either love or hate, but the vast majority of people I’ve introduced it to also love it.

14th February 2018

Favourite gin

Best gin I've tried so far. I prefer it with ginger ale absolutely delicious.

7th January 2018

An absoultely beautiful gin.Its unlike any other on the market. It's lovely in tonic with grapefruit, orange or lemon. It is stunning neat too (which is unusual in a gin). This gin has converted several of my non gin friends. A good quality tonic is a must with this - it deserves the best!

4th January 2018

New Favorite Gin!

Very smooth. Underlying tones are so subtle as to be missed unless someone told you what it was ahead of time. A nice change from the usual suspects, and makes a wonderful martini!

10th December 2017

There is plethora of gins on the market now, every distiller and his dog is riding the wave. TRY BROCKMANS, add a slither of grapefruit peel and a couple of blueberries or a slither of orange and two blackberries; absolutely delicious

16th November 2017

My new favourite gin

Smooth. The subtle fruitiness perfectly balanced by a good tonic. Never going back to Hendricks.

10th November 2017

Not as good as other craft gins

It’s ok but try other gins like the Zymurgorium range or grins which are more complex and unique

14th October 2017

Absolutely gorgeous

I have tasted Brockmans tin for the first time today and can't believe what a delightful drink it is, I wasn't a gin drinker till today but I've never tasted anything like it.

23rd September 2017

Total winner!

Absolute favourite, haven't found a gin that beats Brockmans. Serve it with a blueberry, a raspberry & a slither of pink grapefruit peel. Just perfect!

14th September 2017

All-Time Favourite

Such a smooth, delicious gin! Highly recommend to anyone, even none-gin lovers!

27th August 2017

Berry, cirtus, smooth.

It's unique flavor is so unexpected when paired with tonic water and lime. Its like the red wine of gins! Bursting with flavor with multidimensional. It starts with lime but ends with berry. Smooth! My new favorite alternative to Bombay and the more organic flavored Hendricks.

20th August 2017

Good Gin

Great smooth Gin. I am a huge fan of Hendricks, but this Gin has a good flavor and is incredibly smooth.

2nd August 2017

This is stunning. Completely different to any other gin out there but a welcome addition. With ice, tonic and blueberries it really is quite delicious.

27th July 2017

Best gin ever

Best gin I've ever had. It's so different. Perfect with some grapefruit peel and blueberries and Mediterranean tonic. It's an absolute delight. Smells great and tastes great. A real summer number.

27th July 2017

Overwhelmingly berry flavoured- horrible

Hated this. It is overwhelmingly berry- flavoured which might be all right if you like that kind of thing!

7th July 2017

Unusual, but smooth.

A very unusual Gin. Very floral, and I can see why some dislike it. It can be overpowering, but if you mix in more tonic, it's possible to redress the balance of the drink. As with all spirits, experimentation is key to discovering what works best.

8th June 2017

10th April 2017

Delicious ,the best of its kind, love it

8th February 2017

Absolutely disgusting,- like drinking perfume! Give me Hendricks or Sipsmith any day!

30th January 2017

10 stars all the way

WOW. converted 6 people over to this gin one word to describe this product FANTASTIC

21st December 2016

My 'go to' Gin

Absolutely fantastic Gin! they really knew what they were doing when they put these ingredients together

21st December 2016

wonderful surprise

Wonderful, only tried it for first time this week,my favourite gin so far 10/10

12th August 2016

My Favourite Gin

My Favourite of all the GIN's, I really enjoy the refreshing taste.

13th July 2016

Refreshingly different

All these purists on here giving it one star need to broaden their horizons (and palettes).
A fruity refreshing summer gin, great for socialising or enjoying alone!
I agree it's not going to be for everyone, and will not replace my bathtub or robin of loxley, but still good nonetheless

18th June 2016

Unwashed glass

"If someone bought it for me in a club I would think the glass hadn't been washed properly." K.Elston 2016

23rd April 2016

Not gin

Has no taste of any juniper, just sweet blueberries and bitter oranges.

14th April 2016

Wonderfully fruity and crisp

Refreshingly different

16th February 2016

VK blue

Not gin. As artificial as it could possibly be. This is to gin what VK blue is to a serious cocktail. Fine if you have a sweet tooth and a hankering for a blueberry liqueur, but avoid if you're actually looking for a gin.

8th January 2016

Orange-y, Different but nice

You can really taste those dark berries and orange peel in the palate.
Not to liking of the 'purist' juniper based gin fans but well worth a go... especially if you like gin with a bit of a diffference

17th July 2015

Just terrible

poured a some over ice and took a sip. eew. my first impression was of artificial fruit flavored gun or candy. i gave it a chance but after about six or eight sips poured it into the sink, rinsed the ice, and refilled with hendricks. i agree with the others who say that this isn't gin, or at least it is gin in name only. no stars for this. uhh.

1st July 2015

Unusual but recommended

I was bought a bottle of this by a friend as a gift. I live in Singapore and have been searching everywhere for it. this isn't your classic crisp clear gin but very distinct and fruity, and quite cool to be honest. it should not be compared with the mainstream gins, but rather view it as an eccentric addition that provides depth to your drinks cabinet.

8th June 2015

Not really gin

I thought to be clased as gin, the predominant flavour had to be juniper. The predominant flavour in this drink is fruit (blackberry/blueberry. This is an extremely expensive alcopop drink.

23rd May 2015

I love this gin, it quickly became a favourite with the light clarity of a traditional gin, and the fruity fun of a sloe. Perfect in any weather. I personally love it as a G&T with blackberries and blueberries, but I do believe it would make a scrumptious bramble.

1st May 2015

A Lovely gin

Fruity and pleasant

23rd April 2015

perfect with cuberdon

11th February 2015

Dennis wells

One word, stunning

5th December 2014

Blueberries and blackberries

No wonder it makes a bad martini.

2nd November 2014

Andy Hill

This is the best gin I have ever tasted. If you want you can even serve it neat over ice it's so smooth. Something really different - every gin lover should try it!

30th October 2014

Best gin ever!

Amazing gin, beautiful with ginger ale and creme de mure, lots if ice and blackberries, just right for Autumn

15th October 2014

Ribena at forty times the price

This isn't gin. It smells like medicine and tastes like Ribena. Overpriced and horrible.

9th October 2014

It's amazing! That's all I have to say.

21st September 2014

Too much gin

The floral notes are a great expansion to gin. I love the traditional juniper flavors but the blueberry/ strawberry notes are pleasant.. I want both options. The idiot who thinks all gin has to taste like the swill given to British sailors in the 1800s should rethink if our goal in life is to be conscripted under force. Yes it brings back literary illusions but it is not the life a rational human being would want. And yes I typed this with one finger, because I am old and have perspective.

12th September 2014

Tried Brockmans at a gin festival and loved it. So much so I will need to purchase a bottle

15th June 2014

Just D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S: the best gin ever

I don´t usually drink alcohol... but when I tasted the Brockmans Gin I got fan of it, it was love at first sight... It´s delicious and when combined with tonic and Jamaica pepper gets even better.

25th April 2014

My sister-in-law advised me to try this. Wow best gin I have tasted.

4th April 2014

best gin ever

had it at my sisters it was amazing and have been searching where to buy it from and now ive found it ,and just to put the mark straight yes it is gin and the best ive ever tasted it heaven all the way for me now no more cheap versions thank you brockmans.

26th February 2014

Very tasty

This is a pretty unique gin, I've really tasted nothing else like it. I can see where people saying "it's not gin" are coming from, but that's a bit wide of the mark. It's very, very tasty and extremely fruity.

23rd January 2014

This was introduced to me by a friend and now i cant get enough of this unique gin.

8th January 2014

This isn't gin

I pride myself on my gin collection. I am with the boiled sweet guy. This isn't gin. Wouldn't recommend it at all.

24th November 2013

Forgot to rate it

The taste is so different . Just try it You will be hooked

10th July 2013

This Gin is simply sublime

7th October 2011

This ain't gin

It tastes just like boiled sweets.

15th July 2011

Such a unique taste, one of the few gins I have enjoyed on the rocks but even better with ginger ale or good old tonic! A must have in anyone's drink cabinet.
