    Brockmans Intensely Smooth Gin

From Brockmans distillery comes Brockmans Intensely Smooth Gin. Its unique selection of botanicals including Tuscan juniper berries, Bulgarian coriander, blueberries, blackberries and bittersweet Valencian orange peel are steeped in grain spirit. It is then distilled in a 100 year old copper still, with the final gin boasting, as its name may suggest, an intensely smooth profile. The moody and opaque bottle is somewhat alluring...

Try mixing up a Maratini with this delicious recipe below!

    60ml Brockmans Gin

    60ml Pink grapefruit juice

    30ml Maraschino liqueur

    7.5ml Lemon juice

    7.5ml Sugar syrup

Add all the ingredients to a shaker filled with ice, and give it a good shake. Double strain into a chilled martini glass. Flambé* a strip of pink grapefruit peel over the glass and wipe the peel around the rim. Garnish with a slice of pink grapefruit or peg of citrus peel and enjoy!

*Hold a lit match a few inches above the glass. From a couple of inches away, squeeze the grapefruit peel towards the flame.

Reminds me not so fondly of childhood... Cough syrup in gin form.

I have enjoyed many floral, herbal, and berry gins so this is not the rantings of a dry juniper purist. Simply bad... Nose is sickly berry sweet, barely drinkable neat with the alcohol to cut the overwhelming berry. Mixed with some tonic it is straight up Benylin cough syrup. PTSD trigger here. After I managed to get out of a quivering fetal position I came to see if I was the only one. Apparently not LOL. I'd write more but the review "All the taste of Benylin but without the opiates." has already won the thread.

Divisive, smooth, pleasant, sweet, highly drinkable (for me)

Wow this one really divides the crowd. Well, taste in gin is quite a personal thing. I can confirm that I am a gin lover, do drink a wide variety of gins and this one is very drinkable and pleasant to me. It is very smooth and surprisingly sweet without being in any way sickly. It isn't bold the way that Hendrick's Midsummer clobbers you round the chops, but it is a softer gin in that vein. Maybe that's not what everyone is looking for in a gin, but I'm glad I tried it. Distinctive in its quiet way and may become a regular on my gin shelf! ;)

    Cough medicine

Agree with the other reviews , sorry Brockmans, but this misses by miles. Reminded me of cough syrup, childhood Benylin doses!! Sickly sweet smell on the nose and taste, not what I classify as a real drink for grown ups!

    Mega Brockers

My wife and I have been drinking Brockmans for over ten years now,and it’s one of our favourite gins,I think anyone who doesn’t love Brockmans is mmmmm !

All the taste of Benylin but without the opiates.

I drink gin to keep thin, and the nose and mouthfeel of Brockmans gives off a heightened sense of dead calories. It is unnervingly sweet. The taste is watered down Benylin. And that's Benylin without that cosy codeine hug. Just headachy berry sucrose. I can't find any other botanicals in there, it is about as complex as a glade plug-in and as subtle as a yankee candle.
