This London Dry Gin, repackaged and rejuvenated under new ownership in 2013, takes its name from Boodle's gentleman’s club in St. James's, London and is now produced at the Greenalls distillery.
Famous members of Boodle's gentleman’s club included former Prime Minister Winston Churchill and James Bond author Ian Fleming, which of course makes Boodles an obvious choice for a Vesper.
Churchill also enjoyed gin however and Boodles may have been his favourite brand. I read a story the other day of how Winston added so little vermouth to his Gin Martinis that sometimes a mere glance in the direction of France would suffice!
$34.16 - $73.65
A friend introduced me to Boodles back in 1987 and when ever I got got the chance to purchase, that was my go to brand. Now it is not sold here in the eastern states of the USA. I miss drinking that gin.
My go to is Beefeaters, favorite is probably Tanqueray, for a perfect dry martini. Boodles tastes a little harsh and less aromatic to me. Probably a little cleaner than Gordon’s. Beautiful packaging, but Beefeaters is less expensive and better in my opinion.
I love it and the smooth taste is the best part for me. It makes the best martinis!
It is wonderful. A Benedictine monk who taught me in college loved it. I rediscovered it later in life . Introduced an elderly widow friend to it . Thanks
I tried Boodles gin in the square bottle while living in San Francisco It immediately became my favourite gin Nothing sticks out Incredible in G & T's Superb in martini It has a sharpness Herbal Pitney Even oily style That fit together Perfectly The best Pure and simple A cut above Naturally
