This London Dry Gin, repackaged and rejuvenated under new ownership in 2013, takes its name from Boodle's gentleman’s club in St. James's, London and is now produced at the Greenalls distillery.
Famous members of Boodle's gentleman’s club included former Prime Minister Winston Churchill and James Bond author Ian Fleming, which of course makes Boodles an obvious choice for a Vesper.
Churchill also enjoyed gin however and Boodles may have been his favourite brand. I read a story the other day of how Winston added so little vermouth to his Gin Martinis that sometimes a mere glance in the direction of France would suffice!
Boodles British gin is unsurpassed in flavor, viscosity. And is the ultimate G & T mixer With Q Indian tonic water. Leaves a small bite in the throat in a stupendous martini But makes its serious presence known, always. Fantastic!
Never liked gin until I discovered Boodles. Now it's my go-to drink.
I live in US Texas and literally started drinking alcohol in my late 40’s, I love two drinks, Boodles Gin and small amount dry vermouth, and Scotch (Glenmorangie) straight. But Boodles always makes me grin, not sure why BUT I LOVE IT?????
As they state, “A Proper British Gin” by the people who (although they didn’t originate the beverage) the English perfected the art of gin making; and in this humble sot’s opinion it is one of their masterpieces.
It doesn't taste of gin. It tastes of whatever you mix it with. I'm a huge gin fan but not of this. This is a gin for people who prefer vodka. It's by no means horrible, it can't be. It tastes of nothing.
