Whisky shaped by wind and sea
The Islands
Discover island whisky with Talisker, forged by salt air, storms and time.
Welcome to the Islands
Scotland’s islands produce some of the most diverse whiskies, shaped by their rugged coastlines, briny sea air, and unique microclimates. While some are floral and fruity, others lean into bold peat smoke, creating a rich spectrum of flavours.
The Islands are not officially recognised as a separate Scotch whisky region, instead falling under the Highland umbrella. But across Skye, Mull, Jura, Arran, Raasay and beyond, the whiskies made here share a sense of place that feels too distinct to ignore.
Few distilleries embody this better than Talisker. Made on the shores of Loch Harport on the Isle of Skye, Talisker is defined by maritime power, black pepper heat and a smoky backbone that feels inseparable from its rugged surroundings.
Talisker. The spirit of Skye.
Founded in 1830, Talisker is the oldest working distillery on the Isle of Skye and one of Scotland’s most recognisable island malts. Its character comes from a combination of traditional worm tub condensers, partial peat influence and a spirit style that emphasises texture, spice and coastal salinity.
Talisker whiskies are bold without being blunt, balancing smoke, sweetness and spice in a way that feels powerful yet controlled. It is island whisky with structure, confidence and an unmistakable sense of place.
